3/4 Flap Paterson Belt Scabbard
Another early revolver scabbard for a "Texas Model" Colt Paterson, this time with a 3/4 flap. This style of holster was very popular for civilian use in the percussion cap era. It was essential that the charges in the cylinder be kept dry and many men traded the speed of an open top for the perceived increase in reliability offered by a 1/2, 3/4, or full flap. Notice the knife scabbard style cut of the muzzle end. Available in three colors, with or without the hand stitched "Lone Star." Completely hand-sewn with linen thread treated with a mix of beeswax, tar, and linseed oil. All construction techniques are totally correct for the period. A very typical early civilian revolver scabbard.
This is correct for Texas civilian use for any year after 1837 and for Texas Ranger impressions depicting the period 1843-1850.
3/4 Flap Paterson Belt Scabbard: $90.00
3/4 Flap Paterson Belt Scabbard w/star: $100.00
